Adel, who finished with 20 points, put the finishing touches to the BlackJacks’ 86-85 win over CEBL expansion Newfoundland Growlers.

The win came just two days after Derouin replaced Charles Dube-Brais who was fired following a disappointing 0-3 start to the season by the BlackJacks.

The Growlers received a CEBL record 42 points from Brandon Sampson.

The BlackJacks also received an outstanding effort from Walt Lemon, Jr., who finished with 13 points, eight rebounds, eight assists and four steals.

Next up for the BlackJacks is a road game against the Guelph Nighthawks on Thursday.
