Additionally, a letter from an eye surgeon confirming a person’s blindness and a certificate from someone’s local authority would also count as evidence for the assessor.
On the TV Licensing website, the authority explained how the half-price discount is applied to beneficiaries who live with a blind person and outlined what visually impaired people are entitled to.
The organization said: “If you or someone you live with is blind (severely visually impaired), regardless of age, you can apply for a blind concession.
“If you already have a TV license but it is not in the blind person’s name, you will need to transfer the license to their name.
