Trailer: Stargirl Continues to Spread Her Magic in Julia Hart’s ‘Hollywood Stargirl’ Sequel

Sometimes we just need a little magic in our lives – enter Stargirl Caraway (Grace VanderWaal), the free-spirited, ukelele-playing teenager who, in Julia Hart’s “Stargirl” (2020), has does just that for the lowly, sweet-mannered boy she befriended when she started attending her school. Now Stargirl is ready to bring some magic to Los Angeles, as we see in this new trailer for the sequel, ‘Hollywood Stargirl’.

As she and her mother (Judy Greer, “The First Lady”) move to California, Stargirl befriends her neighbor; forms a bond with budding filmmakers Evan (Elijah Richardson, “When They See Us”) and her brother Terrell (Tyrel Jackson Williams, “Brockmire”), who cast her in their film; and even meets and receives advice from a musician she has long admired (Uma Thurman).

“All I wanted was to dream crazy things and find people crazy enough to dream them with me,” Stargirl shares. “And I got more than that. »

Hart returns as director and co-wrote the screenplay with her frequent collaborator and husband, Jordan Horowitz. They also worked together on “I’m Your Woman”, “Fast Color” and “Miss Stevens”. Their “Stargirl” adaptations are based on the bestselling YA novel of the same name.

“Hollywood Stargirl” hits Disney+ on June 3.
