Tom Parker: Ed Sheeran ‘helped with medical bills’ during Wanted star’s treatment for deadly brain cancer | Ents & Arts News

Ed Sheeran helped pay for part of Tom Parker’s treatment for an inoperable brain tumor, the late Wanted star revealed in his autobiography.

The 33-year-old singer told his fans that he was suffering from an aggressive form of cancer in October 2020, and after battling the disease for 18 months, unfortunately died in march.

parker and Sheeran became friends after the Shape of You singer joined the British-Irish boyband on their tour bus on a trip to America more than 10 years ago.

In an excerpt from the book published in The Sun, Parker writes: “Roughly from the time I was diagnosed, Ed Sheeran reached out to me and offered to do whatever he could for me. to help.

“I’ve never said this publicly before (and he’ll probably be angry that I do now) but Ed is a very special man – he even helped me with my medical bills when I was looking for other treatment options. and that I had private immunotherapy.

“He didn’t need to do anything, but my wife Kelsey and I am very grateful to him for his support. It meant the world. »

Sheeran has not publicly commented on the donations.

The father-of-three also revealed that when he was diagnosed with the ‘worst-case scenario’ – a grade 4 brain tumor called glioblastoma – he didn’t ask doctors how long he had to live because he “needed to be able to live with hope”.

He praised his wife Kelsey for her support, describing how the couple first met after meeting at a nightclub with Pixie Lott.

Calling her his “guardian angel” and “rock”, he admits “I was pretty s***** with her during our freshman year”, refusing to call her his girlfriend and only realizing later that it ‘was she.
