Suspect faces 27 charges in case spanning Ontario and British Columbia

A Toronto man is facing nearly 30 charges in a human trafficking case involving a young victim, police say, who has been sex trafficked in British Columbia and Ontario for nearly a year.

Authorities say the Anti-Human Trafficking Team and the CARE (Children At Risk of Exploitation) team opened an investigation in April this year.

Toronto police say a teenage girl from Ontario was groomed on social media and flown to British Columbia, where she was forced into prostitution in both provinces between August 2021 and April 2022.

On Thursday, June 23, Toronto police arrested a 21-year-old man in the city’s east end.

Andrew “Hot Boy Ryda” Pothiers-Grant is charged with 27 counts, including assault, production of child pornography and multiple offenses of drug and weapons trafficking.

Investigators say they fear there are no more victims and are asking anyone involved or anyone with information to contact police.
