Filming of Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor’s untitled film is progressing in Mumbai. However, filming halted after the film set caught fire on Friday (July 29, 2022). According to the latest updates, the set created in a Mumbai suburb for Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor star is completely destroyed by fire.

The reports came after the public noticed heavy smoke coming out of Chitrakoot land in Andheri West, Mumbai on Friday night. Later, it was confirmed that a fire had broken out on the sets of Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor’s upcoming film, directed by Luv Ranjan. Sources suggest a few of the film’s crew suffered minor injuries in the fire, but no major cause has been reported so far.

Even though the fire crew immediately rushed to the scene, the three-story sets created for the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor project were completely burned down. Reports from Etimes suggest another set, which belonged to Rajshri Productions, was also destroyed in the fire.

“The three floors of the sets were set on fire. Both Rajshri and Luv Ranjan packed their sets as soon as the fire started. There is a bit of chaos here as people are saying some team members are missing, we don’t have the exact details for you,” an FWICE member told Etimes.

Ranbir Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor were not on set when the fire broke out. According to reports, director Luv Ranjan was planning to shoot a massive dance number featuring leading lady Shraddha, along with around 400 dancers, in this set. However, the actress fell ill after filming a few parts and filming was postponed.

The crew planned to resume filming on July 31, Sunday. However, filming has now been further delayed as the makers suffered heavy losses due to the fire. Sources close to the Ranbir Kapoor-Shraddha Kapoor star suggest the team could wrap up the project with a Mumbai schedule or two.
