Post Malone did a good deed — a very good deed — for the students who were mourning the death of their principal.
Post recorded a video for students at PS 56, Louis Desario School in Staten Island. Major, Phil Carollodied suddenly last month at age 49… apparently of a heart attack.
Phil’s widow Erin tells TMZ … her husband was a huge Post Malone fan … the family would go for car rides and all they played was PM while the couple and their children sang.
Well, Phil would have turned 50 on Friday, so the people at school wanted to do something special. They held a carnival and wanted Post to record a video honoring Phil that could be shown to all students.
One of the teachers, Linda Acevadostarted a online petition for Post to save the video. She says she emailed the petition to Post’s agents, manager, business partners and record company, but received no response.
Linda was undeterred…a co-worker had a friend who somehow had a way to the Post, and he recorded the video.
You see Linda in the video break down in tears as an emotional message offers words of comfort to students.
Phil’s widow says it was touching for his children to see their father honored…a very powerful day, she said.
