A new play park and outdoor gym have opened as part of a multi-million pound investment in Barnet Parks.

Meanwhile, visitors to a new £75,000 outdoor gym at Victoria Recreation Ground in New Barnet. includes devices such as a cross-trainer, weight training equipment, kettle bells and bars for triceps dips and chin-ups.
Alan Schneiderman, chair of the council’s environment and climate change committee, said: “Parks are important places for our health and well-being, both physical and mental.
“These are places where we can exercise and relax and they also give us places to go where we can enjoy the clean air and biodiversity, attracting all kinds of wildlife to our borough.
“We’re proud to invest in our beautiful parks, and we hope you find time to enjoy them this Love Parks Week and beyond.”
The council says it has also installed Swing Fitness boxes, which include a variety of weights and can also be used as exercise benches, at Victoria Park in Finchley, Hendon Park and Montrose Playgrounds in Colindale.
A memorial bench has also been installed in the center of the new Barnet Memorial Woodland, where 500 trees have been planted by residents to remember loved ones who have passed away.
