Mel C has promised that there will be “big celebrations” for “Spiceworld” this year.
The ‘Stop’ singer and former Spice Girls costars Mel B, Geri Horner, Emma Bunton and Victoria Beckham will mark the 25th anniversary of their film and accompanying album in the coming months and the singer from 48-year-old said there was something special going on.
She said: “Obviously we have the anniversary of the song and the movie, so let’s just say we’ve been in talks with Universal, the label that produced our first movie…
“I don’t want to get in trouble for leaking a big secret!”
“But there will be big celebrations in the months to come, I can tell you that.”
Although they haven’t played as a quintet since 2012 after Victoria opted out of their 2019 reunion tour, Mel – who has 13-year-old daughter Scarlet with former partner Thomas Starr – insisted the group was still “family” to one another.
She told Britain’s OK! magazine: “We are one big dysfunctional family.
“Our relationship extends beyond the five of us because our parents are friends and our siblings are friends.
“The Spice Girls aren’t just a girl group. There is a huge Spice family. And the good thing is that everyone has their own life, career and responsibilities, but we are always there for each other.
“We still have that sister bond. It will never go away.
“A lot of our kids are the same age now, so they’re all friends too – it’s amazing.
“Hopefully they finish as close as we did.”
Mel tried to “manifest” another meeting for all of them.
She said, “You must manifest these things!” I took a leaf from Mel B’s book – she always said, ‘It will happen, we just need to manifest it’, so that’s what I tried to do.
