Two long years have passed since the first season, but finally, everyone’s favorite matchmaker, Sima Taparia, is back on Netflix and ready to shape up some clients with unrealistic expectations. Indian Matchmaking originally created in June 2020, and followed several singles across the United States and India on their journeys with Sima to find love and get married. The second season sees the return of some familiar faces who are still looking for the right person, as well as the introduction of a whole new generation of singles across the country. It’s an entertaining season of many first dates, and not many successful couples…but you won’t find any spoilers here.
Below you will find the cast on Instagram.
Nadia Jagessar
The season 1 fan favorite is back. Things looked hopeful for her at the end of our last batch of episodes, but she quickly follows her heart in season two…and we hate to say it, but Sima might have been right on this one.
Pradhyuman Maloo
In the first season, Pradhyuman rejected over 150 women introduced to him by Sima. But he found one! Although Sima didn’t introduce the couple, she’s happy to give herself partial credit because “[she] had worked very hard before that.
Aparna Shewakramani
Aparna was a very picky dater in Season 1, and not too popular among the show’s fans. She even wrote a book called She’s Insufferable: And Other Lies That Bring Women Down after the first broadcast of the show. She’s back this time, plus she’s moving to New York and ready to start over. But has she changed?
Joshi viral
North Carolina-based Viral is this season’s newcomer with a long list of demands for Sima. Only time will tell if it will also be a Sima success story.
Shital Patel
New York-based Shital has long been ready to settle down, but hasn’t been able to find the right guy. She fears she’s running out of time and hopes that Sima can help her.
Akshay Dhumal
Akshay loves chickens. And he’s also looking for a wife. Bonus points if she also likes chickens. The problem is that Akshay lives three hours from Mumbai in Nashik, which lacks an eligible single population. (According to Sima, this is not the only problem to be solved.)
Arshneel Singh
Arshneel, who is private on Instagram, is a charming Cleveland-based cardiology fellow who has spent the past few years focusing on his career. Now he’s ready to settle down (with a Taco Bell-themed proposal, so I hope she likes Taco Bell), and Sima is here to help.
Vinesh
Miami-based Vinesh is looking for a stylish woman who can cook as well as her mother. Say it with us: you get 60-70% of what you’re looking for. 100% does not exist.
