After several pre-season games, Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Manchester United is still up in the air. Ronaldo discussed his future at the club with head coach Erik ten Hag on Tuesday.
The Portuguese striker’s agent, Jorge Mendes, joined them and said his client “wants to be removed” from the squad in order to compete in the Champions League.

Ronaldo, 37, missed United’s pre-season trip to Thailand and Australia due to alleged family obligations, which the club accepted as an excuse.
Although both clubs turned down the chance to sign the striker, Mendes still pushed for a deal with Ronaldo, signing with Bayern and Atlético Madrid.
Ronaldo would prefer to join a club in Europe, and he would only consider joining one in the Middle East in an emergency. While the club maintain the striker is not for sale, there have yet to be any significant offers for him from a European side.
