Man dies after being ‘pushed’ down stairs

A man in his thirties died after being “pushed” down the stairs on Sunday afternoon in Pointe-Saint-Charles in Montreal.

Around 12:30 p.m., the police were called to a residence on Ash Street, located in southwest Montreal.

Once on the scene, they were able to locate the victim and immediately undertook resuscitation maneuvers. The victim, a man in his thirties, succumbed to his injuries.

“The thesis of murder is considered, but not confirmed,” said agent Véronique Comtois, spokesperson for the Service de police de la Ville de Montréal (SPVM).

At the start of the evening, the SPVM indicated that it had arrested a suspect. “He was arrested and taken to a detention center where he should meet the investigators,” said agent Marianne Allard-Morin, spokesperson for the SPVM.

An investigation is still underway to determine the circumstances surrounding this tragedy.
