A man has been charged with the murder of a mother of two who has been missing for nearly a week.
Katie Kenyon, 33, was last seen around 9.30am on Friday getting into a Ford Transit van with a man in Burnley, Lancashire.
His disappearance sparked a major police search, with more than 60 specialist officers combing through a forest in nearby Ribble Valley.
Police had previously said there was only a ‘slim hope’ of finding Ms Kenyon alive.
Lancashire Police announced on Wednesday evening that Andrew Burfield, 50, of Todmorden Road, Burnley, had been charged with her murder.
He is due to appear at Blackburn Magistrates Court on Thursday morning.
The force said in a statement: ‘Katie’s family have been informed and continue to be supported by specially trained officers.
“They convey their thanks for all the messages of wishes, but have asked people to respect their privacy at this time. »
