Dr Shanker Nesathurai said while the right to dissent is rooted in democracy, those who took part in the protest targeting Dr Huma Kazmie on Wednesday should be “aware of the impact this could have on children and parents who go to a pediatrician’s office.
Nesathurai praised Kasmie as a doctor who served the Windsor area for 20 years and treated ‘thousands of children’.
“Some of these children have significant medical issues,” Nesathurai said. “Diabetes, significant disabilities.
“I think we should recognize that it is stressful for children and their parents to have to deal with protesters and pickets when trying to get important basic medical care.”
