Katharine McPhee shares new baby photo with husband David Foster

Katharine McPhee spends all her time with her baby boy.

The singer, her husband David Foster and their one-year-old son, Rennie, spent some family time together in Italy. On what appeared to be one of their last days before returning to the United States, McPhee, 38, shared an intimate photo of her little one snuggling up to her.

The photo shows McPhee, wearing an oversized white shirt with a straw hat. Rennie is curled up in her lap as she gives him a kiss on the head.

“Too much fun in the sun,” McPhee captioned the photo in the Instagram Story she shared on Thursday.

The actor and Foster, 72, welcomed Rennie in February 2021. This is McPhee’s first child, while the musician is also the father of five grown daughters.

“We chose Rennie because I had been in labor for some time. We hadn’t decided on a name,” McPhee shared TODAY with Hoda and Jenna about naming her son. “We had a few names, but my husband was on a text channel with his sisters and one of his sisters suggested an old surname. »

“It was his great-grandfather’s name, his great-uncle’s name, so he has a long history in his family. My husband said, “Hi, Ren Foster,” so we said, “That’s a good name. It’s a strong name,” she added.

The couple met on the “American Idol” set when McPhee was on the show in 2006. They married in 2019.

Earlier this year, McPhee congratulated her loving husband on Father’s Day.

“Happy dad to the man @davidfoster who loves me like I could only dream of and made me complete in life by making me a mom. I love our little family. I love our big family,” she wrote. “You have NEVER complained about how your life is slightly different now. Well… you’re only complaining about not being able to stay up late watching TV in bed, but how can I blame you, it’s your favorite thing.

Adding: “You have only made giving birth to Rennie an absolute joy for me. To many more baby adventures! 🎊I love you to the moon and back.
