Jeff Daniels is set to return to Netflix as he has been tapped to star in A complete mana limited series based on the 1998 novel by Tom Wolfe.
The six-episode series comes from David E. Kelley and Regina King, with Kelley serving as writer, executive producer, and showrunner, with King directing three episodes and executive producing. A Man in Full tells the story of ” Charlie Croker (Daniels), an Atlanta real estate magnate who faces sudden bankruptcy. Political and business interests collide as Charlie defends his empire against those trying to capitalize on his fall from grace, but the crass, crude and irrepressible Charlie defends it against all takers – at all costs.“Sounds like a juicy role.
As I mentioned above, A complete man won’t be the first time Jeff Daniels has helmed a Netflix series. The actor has previously starred alongside Jack O’Connell, Michelle Dockery, Scoot McNairy, Merrit Wever, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Kim Coates and Sam Waterston in Impious. The Western series was created, written and directed by Scott Frank and tells the story of a young outlaw on the run from his vengeful mentor who finds himself in a small town populated almost entirely by women. Jeff Daniels played the main villain, and the role earned him an Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited Series or Movie. Jeff Daniels was recently seen in american rust, a Showtime series set in a small town in Rust Belt, Pennsylvania. Daniels played police chief Del Harris, who must investigate when the son of the woman he loves is framed for murder. Showtime canceled the series after just one season earlier this year.
