Gina Carano: ‘Disney basically put my life in danger’

Gina Carano refused to be canceled. Now she’s calling out whoever tried to erase her in the first place.

The ‘Terror on the Prairie’ star went on ‘The Adam Carolla Show’ this week. Together, they hammered out the reprimands and took on one of Hollywood’s biggest targets.

Disney, Inc.

Carano and Carolla pounded the Mouse House for firing the actress on the lesser charge. Disney dumped her from ‘The Mandalorian’ for ‘offensive’ social media posts. Except the messages weren’t offensive and other Disney employees said far worse.

Think Pedro Pascal, Mr. Mandalorian himself, and “Hocus Pocus 2” star Bette Midler.

Now it’s Carano’s turn to fight back.

The MMA star joined Carolla to dissect how Disney treated her and examine the broader cultural landscape. She’s still frustrated that her tame social media posts got her fired, but other stars are saying much worse with no repercussions.

Carano doesn’t call herself a conservative, but she’s willing to challenge progressive groupthink.

Carolla maintained that this was not a single statement made by any given star. It’s about their political leanings. He proved his point by comparing free speech to hot dogs.

If Person A. likes ketchup on his hot dog and Person B. prefers mustard, no one bats an eyelid. It’s a difference of opinion.

In today’s culture, stating selected opinions is a “saying”.

“When you say, ‘I’m not for kid hiding or school closures,’ they’re saying, ‘oh, you swung your hand. You are a Republican. You are one of them. You have to be canceled,” Carolla explained. “You disagree with us politically. It has nothing to do with hot dogs.

Stars like Bette Midler and Alec Baldwin say and do terrible things without any professional punishment. Both are ironclad liberals.

“They’re on our team, but we can’t say that out loud because it’s Hollywood, and we have to pretend we don’t engage in McCarthyism, but we do…we found out you don’t you’re not one of us, and you have to go,” Carolla said.

Carano shifted the conversation to culture as a whole, a time of sharing where people can say horrible things about those in power without consequences.

“All of Hollywood for the past four years, they’ve been sending death messages to President Trump, death threats on Twitter,” Carano said. “Hollywood created this environment. »

Still, most stars avoid Twitter suspensions, let alone backlash from their industry peers.

“Oh, you have the right to talk to a president that way, you have the right to be political…unless you come from a place that we disagree with, and then we will take your job, we’ll harass you,” Carano said.

His social media accounts have challenged liberal groupthink on voter fraud, free speech and more. This placed a juicy target on its back.

“My agency let me down,” she added.

“They’re just p****ies,” Carolla said.

Disney’s attempt to destroy Carano’s reputation had real consequences, she argued.

” [Disney] publicly said that I was, at a very bad time, a really dangerous time to say it, that I was not tolerant of other races and religions… they basically put my life in danger,” Carano said.

Carano’s story had a happy ending thanks to the Daily Wire, which produced “Terror on the Prairie.”

“It’s nice that these outlets are popping up to accommodate people who have been canceled or semi-cancelled… there’s a place to go to create,” said Carolla, host of the Daily Wire’s ‘Truth Yeller’ series. .

Carano yearns for a return to the past, when people could disagree politically and still work together.

“Hopefully in five years we can look back and say, ‘How ridiculous was that?’ she says of modern enlightened culture.

At the start of the chat, Carano asked the host if he had been canceled for his contrary opinions. Carolla said he wasn’t sure, but by building his own entertainment empire, he protected himself against woke employers.

This includes one of Hollywood’s greatest actors.

“I don’t work for cowards like Disney,” Carolla said.
