In dark house, House Beautiful editors and co-hosts Alyssa Fiorentino and Hadley Mendelsohn take listeners “to the crossroads of true crime, interior design, and the paranormal.” There, they tell tales of beautiful homes that can’t get past their sordid stories and “and uncover the odd tales suggesting that some residents never left – and that maybe history isn’t the only thing that haunts them”.
The first season premiered in October 2021 – just in time for Halloween – and featured The SK Pierce House in Gardner, Mass., The Mercer-Williams House in Savannah, Ga., The Harlow/Bern House in Los Angeles, Calif. , and The Villisca Ax Murder House in Villisca, Ia.. In each episode, Fiorentino and Mendelsohn unpacked each house’s unique architecture, the surrounding region it’s in, and the gossip surrounding which ghosts float or don’t. in its hallways.
It has been teased that this season’s topics will include a two-part special about the residence where Sharon Tate, Jay Sebring, Abigail Folger, Wojciech Frykowski and Steven Parent, while pregnant, were brutally murdered by supporters of Charles Manson as well than the Rhode Island home that inspired Conspiracy and the Lemp Mansion in St. Louis.
New episodes will air every other Wednesday. Listen on Spotify or Apple Podcasts.
