Established for almost 70 years in Acton Vale, Pâtisserie Gaudet declared a $23.8 million bankruptcy this week, resulting in the forced layoff of 113 workers.

“The balance owed by the company to the Government of Quebec and to Investissement Quebec is $7.7 million,” said Dominik Boudreault Lapierre, spokesman for Investissement Quebec (IQ), on Tuesday August 9.

Saturday morning, the building was still in flames as evidenced by numerous videos posted on social networks.
