Christian Bale talks about playing Gorr in ‘Thor: Love And Thunder’

Christian Bale shared his honest thoughts on joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Gorr the God Butcher in Thor: Love and Thunder.

Christian Bale enters the MCU as a former Batman actor and Oscar winner. In Thor: Love and Thunder, it will test the God of Thunder as Gorr the Butcher God, who director Taika Waitti claims is Marvel’s best villain yet. By speaking with total movie, Bale first shared some of the surprising inspirations behind his villain in the Thor film:

“I mostly hear Taika [Waititi, director] thoughts on this. There’s obviously kind of a light-hearted attitude from Nosferatu. Taika and I wanted to do a whole dance, which we couldn’t do, but we had all this Kate Bush stuff we were working on. But I think he just realized he would never be allowed to put that in the final movie. I would say the most common thing I watched was the Aphex Twin video from ‘Come To Daddy’. But I don’t even know if it will be in the final film.

Gorr’s Thong

A complaint that has already hit the internet concerns Christian Bale’s look as Gorr in Thor: Love and Thunder, which is not identical to his appearance in the comics. Bale confessed in the interview that he was happy with his version in the Thor the movie is not an exact comic:

“You go out like, ‘I know what he’s doing.’ It’s right there in the name, isn’t it? But I made the mistake of googling it and, oh no! [In the comics] he runs all the time in a thong. And I thought, ‘They don’t have the right man for that!’ And then Taika quickly dispelled any thoughts of running in there. But I always thought what he could do with that in front of a blue screen – he could throw whatever he wants later.

Christian Bale is also notably the latest A-list star to join the MCU, something the 48-year-old actor had no idea when asked if he was hesitant to play another comic book character after his death. run as Batman:

“Absolutely not, no. It didn’t even enter my head at all. I was reading that, and people were like, ‘Oh, look at that! He entered the MCU! And I was like, ‘What did I do? I didn’t get into shit, thank you very much. I’m like, ‘The MCU?’ I had to ask what it was.
