Legendary Canadian singer-songwriter Buffy Sainte-Marie has canceled her summer performances due to an episode of COVID-19, according to a statement from the Regina Folk Festival.

“Despite being vaccinated and following all protocols, Buffy is recovering from Covid-19,” the statement read. “Right now her main focus must be on recovery, but she hopes to be back on stage again soon. »

Sainte-Marie, 81, was to be one of the headliners for the 51st Regina Folk Festival, which returns after a two-year hiatus. It is scheduled for August 5-7 at Victoria Park.

Following the cancellation of Sainte-Marie, single tickets for the Saturday evening show can be refunded by sending an email to [email protected] or by calling the Folk Festival office at 306-757-0308.
