Reality star Blac Chyna has lost the $108m (£77m) lawsuit she filed against the Kardashians – with the judge awarding her no compensation.
The 33-year-old model had accused Kim Kardashianher sisters Khloe and Kylie Jenner and their mother, Kris Jenner, for making statements that ruined or defamed her reputation and for conspiring to have her TV show Rob and Chyna taken down.
Blac Chyna was engaged to Kardashian’s brother Rob and sued the family for around £77million over loss of profits.
But on Monday, the Los Angeles Superior Court ruled against her.
Chyna’s lawsuit alleges the women falsely told TV producers and executives that Chyna violently attacked her fiancé Rob in December 2016 in an effort to get her reality show canceled.
Chyna’s attorney, Lynne Ciani, said no witness testimony, photos and video from the time showed any significant injuries to Rob Kardashian.
“He had no marks on him,” she told the court. “There was no call to the police, no trip to the hospital, not even a bandage. »
However, the Kardashians’ attorney, Michael Rhodes, had argued that the women had every reason to believe the accounts of the attack by Rob Kardashian and Kris Jenner’s longtime boyfriend Corey Gamble, who said that he had broken off the dispute and was a key defense witness. .
“Do you remember how Rob looked yesterday at the helm? His pain was real,” Mr Rhodes said. “It’s a real family. Yeah, they’re famous, but they’re real people. He was very seriously injured here. »
At one point during the proceedings, Kris Jenner, the siblings’ mother, told the court that Chyna – whose legal name is Angela White – had once put a gun to rob’s head during a “traumatic” argument.
The civil formation of the court which deliberates since Thursday returned verdicts in favor of Kim Kardashian, her mother Kris Jenner and her sisters Khloe Kardashian and Kylie Jenner.
After the verdict, attorneys for the Kardashian and Jenner family “expressed their gratitude” to the jury and said they were “grateful for the steady hand” of Judge Gregory Alarcon.
“The jury has sent a clear message to Ms White and her lawyer – I hope they are listening,” the lawyers said in a statement. “Justice prevailed. »
A representative for Chyna declined to comment. His attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
