President Joe Biden drew a positive response from a Chinese Communist Party official after he took to Twitter to ask gas stations to lower their prices due to geopolitics.
Biden took to Twitter on Saturday to implore companies operating large gas stations to lower prices, saying “this is a time of war and peril.” His tweet garnered support from Chinese state media official Chen Weihua, who praised Biden for finally realizing “capitalism is about exploitation,” Fox Business reported. Weihua is the European bureau chief of China Daily, the outlet continued.
China Daily is a Chinese government-controlled state-run news agency that has paid American media millions of dollars to publish Beijing propaganda, Vision Times reported.
My message to companies that operate gas stations and set prices at the pumps is simple: This is a time of war and global peril.
Reduce the price you charge at the pump to reflect the cost you pay for the product. And do it now.

While China’s state media official praised the president’s tweet, US billionaire Jeff Bezos fired back at Biden, accusing the administration of misdirecting the American people or misunderstanding the “basic dynamics of the market,” according to a recent tweet. Ouch. Inflation is far too big an issue for the White House to continue making statements like this. This is either direct misdirection or a deep misunderstanding of basic market dynamics. https://t.co/XgKfEICZpk

The Biden administration has repeatedly blamed high gas prices on Russia’s war on Ukraine, but now appears to imply that the rising costs are due to deliberate price hikes.
