Actor Vikram was admitted to Kauvery Hospital in Chennai on Friday after complaining of chest discomfort.

According to a hospital bulletin, he has been assessed by a team of specialists and is stable. He will be discharged from the hospital soon, said the bulletin signed by Aravindan Selvaraj, co-founder and executive director of the hospital.

The bulletin read: ‘Popular Tamil actor Mr Vikram has been admitted to Kauvery Hospital with complaints of chest discomfort. He was assessed and treated by a team of medical specialists. He did not have a cardiac arrest, is currently clinically stable and will soon be discharged from hospital.

Earlier in the day, the actor’s manager, Suryanarayanan M., tweeted, “Chiyaan Vikram had a slight chest discomfort and is being treated for the same. He DID NOT have a heart attack as the reports falsely claim.

The actor was due to attend a reception on Friday evening to release teasers for his upcoming film, Ponniyin Selvan, directed by Maniratnam, and starring an all-star cast.
